In Africa, diabetes and hypertension is a rapidly emerging problem. Africa eHealth developed the AfyaPro Diabetes Hyper-tension Call Centre. This includes an App, a dashboard for the nurse and a full electronic medical record for both nurses and doctors to monitor and assist the patient. The call centre operates in Accra, Ghana. Soon it will also become available in Kenya and Tanzania. The technology empowers new ways of working. Wim Rutten, the Senior Medical Officer at Africa eHealth Solutions, was one of the pioneers in making the diabetes and hyper tension care more friendly for the patient in the Netherlands. At the same time he improved the quality of care and the financial results for the health facilities operating a Diabetes Call Centre. Presently, he assist in the change management that supports the good functioning of the AfyaPro Call Centre.
